Short, signature or heartfelt: how long should a card be?
A gentle guide to choosing the length of what you say.
We group our messages by length because length changes what a card can do.
Mini and short messages, up to about eighteen words, are for people who already know how you feel. They land like a squeeze of the hand.
Signature messages, around eighteen to thirty words, say one idea with a little room around it. They suit colleagues, friends, and most birthdays.
Heartfelt messages, thirty words and more, are for the moments that deserve to be read slowly: an anniversary, a parent, the people who have been there.
When you cannot decide, pick the one you could read aloud to them without flinching.
